When buying vintage, its not uncommon to feel overwhelmed with patterns. BUT just take a second to consider how each piece could be styled before telling yourself ‘I could never pull that off.’
The key to working with patterns is balance - pay attention to the pattern vs. solid (and skin) ratio (too much of the same pattern can be costume-y) , the colors (they should compliment one another - NOT mirror) and also the cut of each garment (fit is even more so an important part of styling when you are dealing with patterns). If you follow these simple “rules” (aren’t those meant to be broken? <3 ) then you can surely dive into the world of vintage buying...full speed ahead...no stops at patterns!
